Orange Group to shine on Fraud Management | Mobileum

Written by Jane Thompson | 10/05/2013
I’ve been going to the WeDo Technologies Worldwide User Group (WWUG) since 2010 and I have to say it is one of the most useful and fun events in my calendar. The WeDo Technologies team has done a great job of creating an event that helps its clients on a practical level. This in turn keeps familiar faces coming back and makes for a really friendly atmosphere that it seems to maintain no matter how much the event grows. As a speaker, this is something that I appreciate more than most and definitely helps to relax the nerves before getting up on stage.

As part of a bigger focus on Fraud Management (FM) at this year’s user group, my presentation will shed some light on the centralised strategy adopted within the Orange Group and what lessons our peers might be able to take from this. As such a large group with so many different entities, ensuring end to end prevention and detection of fraud is a complex job and one that highlights the importance of collaboration across the different departments. This is a key message I would like the audience to come away with as well as the difference between Revenue Assurance (RA) and FM, and why they require individual approaches.

I anticipate this topic will be discussed a lot more at this year’s event following WeDo Technologies’ growth in customers using its RAID solution to drive FM strategies. One of the things I find particularly useful about being a speaker at an event like this is the conversations it stimulates afterwards. With all the customers using the same platform, these conversations inevitably stir up more questions for how your team could be using it better to perform the tasks you need it to. It is these questions that allow you to strengthen the processes in place when you return to the office and offer a more value added service to your customers.

These types of conversations can also be invaluable to someone in a position like mine who is perhaps less hands-on with the system themselves, but who works with teams of people that use the platform every day. This is one of the key things I get out of the user group as it gives me real insight into what the teams is dealing with on a daily basis. Demonstrations with the WeDo Technologies team are particularly useful as it offers the opportunity to work with them to discover solutions to specific challenges within your organisation as well as influence future product developments and get an insight into WeDo Technologies' product roadmap. All of which have an important part to play when developing your own strategies. This year for example, I will be looking to learn more about the latest version of WeDo Technologies’ software launched earlier this year, RAID 7.0, and how its new features can help us achieve our goals.

Ultimately the WWUG really is a two way experience whether you’re a speaker or not. It creates a networking platform with like-minded professionals that can help you to use software more effectively, do your job better and ultimately offer an improved service to customers. I myself have gained many friends from the events which I keep in contact with throughout the year. I hope to meet a few more at WWUG 2013.

See you there!
